Hornsea (above) is a small traditional seaside town in East Yorkshire situated between Bridlington to the north and the beautific Spurn Point to the south. Once popular with Victorian holidaymakers, the town declined after the railway from Hull was axed in the Beeching era, but has since recovered as a popular resort for young families attracted to nearby holiday parks as well as the safe blue flag beaches. Hornsea also boasts Yorkshire's largest freshwater lake - Hornsea Mere - as well as being famous for Hornsea pottery. |
